Masteries
Titan Quest 2 (TQ2) Masteries are the effective Classes of the game, and are all themed around a particular style of play. For instance the Storm Mastery focuses on Cold Damage and Lightning Damage, while casting elemental spells. The Warfare Mastery specializes in melee and ranged combat, allowing players to deal more damage up close or from afar using the weapon the player has equipped. Players will have an initial Mastery selection during the The Hunt Begins quest and then a bit further into the game they will have a choice of a second Mastery during The Queen of the Mountain quest, allowing them to select Active Skills and Passive Skills from both to create their own unique playstyle.
Players unlock Active and Passive Skills further up each Mastery tree by acquiring Divinity and placing it into their desired Mastery. Players gain 6 Divinity after defeating the Gryphon during The Queen of the Mountain quest, allowing them to reach the second tier of abilities in 1 of their Masteries.
Players will only be able to slot up to 10 Active Skills on their bar at a time, but these can be modified using Modifiers that change the way these Skills function. These Modifiers can increase damage, increase duration, change the area of effect, change the damage type, and much more, so there are a lot of ways players can utilize each Skill, allowing for more Build diversity.
Titan Quest 2 currently has 4 Masteries known: Warfare, Storm, Earth and Rogue (all making a return from the first game), but more are expected to be announced as Early Access progresses. Combining 2 Masteries results in an named combination, such as Battlemage (Warfare/Earth), that players can glean the playstyle from by it's name. Below is a list of possible combinations currently.
