Free Barrier

Free Barrier in Titan Quest 2 (TQ2) adds to your Total Barrier, improving the amount of Damage you can mititage when using the Barrier Skill. Unlike Energy Barrier though, it does not add Energy cost to the skill, making it better in a lot of ways.

You will usually find Free Barrier on Shields, but you can find it on the Barrier Preservation Modifier of the Battlefield Awareness skill, which is located inside the Warfare Mastery.
You can also increase Free Barrier you already have by taking any Modifier or passive that increases "Global" or "Total" Barrier, since these include both Free Barrier and Energy Barrier. These include:
